Haha, good article, your list definitely cracked me up...travel clothes line sounds like something from seinfeld! I'd beg to differ on the disposable underwater camera though, you can actually get good shots from those (although like you said it does help if its the right time of day) ...there are some decent faq sites for those, I use this one: http://disposableunderwatercamera.org and have had good results.

Nice list. Instead of a suction-cup clothesline, I recommend a DIY bungee cord with hooks on the end. You also need some creativity to stretch the cord in bizarre pretzels across your hotel rooms to get sufficient tension in the line before hanging your clothes--no droop here!

Ashamed to say I've purchased the underwater disposable camera twice, and yes--it's always a disappointment. Great list, man. Let's hear some stories from Borneo! --Ross

Just echoing everyone - great list! A favorite pasttime of mine involves cracking up at the different animal contraptions in those in-flight magazine catalogs!

This is awesome-- and I love the "chotcolate tea pot." ;)
Just take a look at any Hamlecher Shlemer (or however you spell it) or Brookstone catalog (or any flight magazine catalog) and you'll be able to extend this list by at least a mile.

This article is hilarious! I love the image of your clothesline flinging itself out of a window to end its misery.

I love the list! There's so much stupid stuff for sale out there when I shop I think how useless will this be instead of how helpful it'll be. I have to agree with Eva though, I have a small toiletry bag and I consider it an important packing tool.

Great list! I have to disagree with you on the toiletry organizer, though. I have a great one that rolls up and ties, when unrolled it has a hook for hanging in the shower so there is no packing and unpacking. It is a little bulky but waterproof, convenient, and I always know exactly where everything is.

Other than that, I don't go in for gadgets much. A handful of used plastic bags can go a long way.
