They're all good, really! But I didn't figure it would be a very interesting list if 9 of the 10 were Best Americans... :) The only one that I didn't burn through was 2005, but on the other hand it had one of my absolute favourite stories in it, War Wounds by Tom Bissell. I think it's an excerpt from his book about returning to Vietnam with his dad, to the exact site where he took 200 pieces of shrapnel in the back. Intense. Yeah, Iyer was 2004 – also a good one.
