Thanks for the tips. I am experimenting with a blog I just put up at http://2010-olympics-last-minute-travel.blogspot.com/ specifically for last minute accommodations for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. I will try some of your tips but I can figure out how to put a link in this comment as there are no instructions for it on this site.

Hi,
I’m a new member of your forum and thought you might be able to help me on this.

I’m planning to create a travel blog platform/portal like travelpod.com for my friends/family/relatives/neighbors etc.

So, I was wondering if I use WordPress 2.8 would I be able to get the result? Or I should use Joomla or something else?

Since WordPress is also new to me, will it be too difficult for me to achieve my goal in a short time?

Craig, great overview. The only thing I would say is that if you intend to use your blog for a business I would recommend having your own domain instead of being on wordpress.com.

Thank you for an interesting post. I didn’t know how to use flickr or co-ordinate it with the widget function. Also that is good that the password info can be erased from site you mentioned as that seems important. Great article.
