I live in Portland, and love it. I'm truly a Northwest girl, and it's just been crazy to see the interest in Portland skyrocketing lately!

So here are some things to dislike about Portland:
1. We (Oregon) now have the 2nd highest unemployment in the US, and the unemployed educated hipsters keep on coming. The Wall Street Journal had a really interesting article about it a few weeks ago... http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124242099361525009.html

2. It rains a lot!

I'm selfish! ;)

Anna,
Thanks so much for the cool Portland info. I'm with Tim, your article made me start begging MY Tim (AKA the hubby) to let us move to Portland. As I just stopped begging to move home to So Cal (because we're here now) it might be a while before he gives in. Thanks for all the cool sights though, I'll have to take the coastal train up there for a weekend sometime.

Portland has been on my radar screen for a while - yesterday I even browsed Craigslist a bit looking for rooms. This post just upped my curiosity another notch. Solid writing, Anna, thanks!
