Nice Vid David !!
My fondest memories involve bikes
Cycling through Baru nat forest in Costa Rica with Bridget, pulling off to see a squeeking squadron of new born alligators and one fat dusty momma like a stone in the marsh.

Thanks for the shout-out, John!

Incidentally, our Change blog just published a great collection of Matador cycling resources, as well as links to community meet-ups in several U.S. cities. Check it out: http://matadorchange.com/may-is-national-bike-month-in-the-us/

Thanks for the comments guys. For advice on getting your tour started I'd recommend checking out Hal's articles. He has some great advice on equipment, logistics, pre-tour training, etc.
Tim--thanks for posting the warmshowers.org link. Pedaled through an entire trans-American tour without even knowing about it.

Nice note... I`m a new cyclist. ANd riding bike is so much fun than everything. I can feel the air to breath so cleaner I ever breath. And it`s becoming my fav activity now...
I agree to you

Damn straight. While I have yet to do a big cycling tour, I've traveled in campervans with bikes on the back. Set up shop in a campsite and cycle around. I even did this in Paris, camping about a 30 min ride outside the city...what a great way to see the everyday bits.

You truly get a much more in-depth experience of place by cycling.
